Sustainability at JD3

As a leading manufacturer in the LED Neon sign industry, our focus is on sustainability and lowering our environmental impact. We're dedicated to making a positive difference for the planet while giving our customers high-quality, innovative sign solutions.

Reducing or eliminating waste and inefficiencies is a priority for us. We constantly review and improve our products, packaging, and operations to be as sustainable as we can be.

Our packaging promise

Recycled Source Packaging. 100% Recycleable.

One of the main things that makes our packaging solution special is that every product is manufactured from recycled materials. We know that traditional packaging often uses materials that can't be reused, which is bad for the environment. By only using recycled stuff, we're not only reducing the need for new raw materials, but also keeping waste out of landfills. To make sure each JD3 product gets the perfect sustainable packaging, we use advanced laser cutting machines. These high-tech tools allow us to make custom packaging designs with incredible precision. That means every single piece of the packaging is tailored exactly to the size and specification of your order, minimising waste, and we are only ever sending the package out via our GoGreen+ courier, DHL without wasted cargo space or unnecessary void packaging being used.

Green Cast Acrylic

100% Recycled Acrylic. Every Time.

Re-think, re-use, recycle that’s Green Cast®. PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) can be recycled back to its original raw material, the organic solvent methyl methacrylate monomer, without the end product (cast acrylic sheets) losing its optical, mechanical and thermal properties. The challenge at Madreperla for the last years was to act proactively to promote 100% recycled and recyclable products, and implementing with all the stakeholders a circular process. We have developed over the last years a sustainable value chain that we’re trying to perfect every day in cooperation with our partners. They have invested in research, collaborating with Italian and German universities, to perfect a process of regeneration of PMMA waste, coming from end-of-life products and industrial waste. The process, known as de-polymerisation process, allows to regain a high quality raw material, regenerated monomer (R-MMA), from which they produce Green Cast® sheets, cast acrylic sheets 100% recycled and recyclable.

JD3 & Octopus Energy

Solar Panels + Renewable Energy Supplier

At our design studio and workshop, we've gone green. We only use renewable energy to power our operations. As a responsible business, we want to reduce our carbon footprint and help the environment. To do this, we've installed solar panels on our rooftops. These panels capture sunlight and turn it into clean electricity. Since the sun is a never-ending energy source, our solar panels keep us powered up, even on cloudy days. By using solar power, we've cut back on fossil fuels and lowered our carbon emissions. But we didn't stop there. We also partnered with a 100% renewable energy supplier (Octopus Energy) to cover our remaining electricity and gas needs. This supplier provides power from renewable sources like wind, hydro, and biomass. By supporting them, we're helping to grow the demand for clean energy and expand renewable infrastructure. We're proud to be a sustainable business. Our solar panels and renewable energy supplier have transformed the way we operate. We're doing our part to protect the planet, and we hope to inspire other companies to follow our lead.

Stripe Climate is a collection of businesses focused on Carbon Removal

At JD3, we donate portions of our revenue to carbon removal efforts. Removing CO₂ from the atmosphere is crucial to fighting climate change, but the technology is still developing. A portion of every card purchase from JD3 goes towards supporting new carbon removal technologies via our card payment provider, Stripe. We believe businesses have a critical role to play in tackling climate change. We're proud to fund the next generation of carbon removal solutions. JD3 is part of Stripe Climate, a group of companies working to accelerate carbon removal. No single company can stop climate change alone. Stripe Climate pools funds from forward-thinking businesses worldwide to increase demand for permanent carbon removal. Stripe's in-house team of experts helps select the most promising carbon removal technologies to invest in. We support a range of emerging technologies that can pull CO2 out of the air. Stripe Climate works with a diverse group of scientific experts to find and evaluate the best carbon removal options.

Our Sustainable Vision

To achieve our sustainability goals, we've integrated various strategies into our business practices. First and foremost, we focus on energy-efficient manufacturing. By optimising our production methods and using energy-efficient equipment, we minimise our energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We also utilise solar power and renewable energy sources.

Another crucial aspect of our sustainability efforts is the use of eco-friendly materials. We actively seek out and incorporate sustainable alternatives, such as recycled acrylics and biodegradable components, in the production of our signs and packaging. This not only reduces our environmental impact but also supports the circular economy.

Encouraging the use of LED technology is a cornerstone of our sustainability efforts. LED signs are energy-efficient and long-lasting, which means lower energy consumption and fewer replacements, ultimately reducing waste.

To further minimise waste, we've implemented waste reduction measures throughout our manufacturing process. We promote recycling and reusing materials whenever possible, and we ensure that all of our acrylic waste is recycled back into our supply chain, rather than being disposed of in landfills. We also only ship back waste on empty return journeys of the delivery vehicles to further reduce our carbon footprint.

In addition to focusing on our internal operations, we strive to be environmentally conscious in our external practices. We select sustainable packaging materials that are recyclable or biodegradable to reduce the environmental impact of shipping and transportation and only use printed materials that are 100% recyclable, from 100% recycled stock and without lamination.  announcements, or welcome customers to your store.
